I also recommend that no fruit grower bew without "Diseases of Tree Fruits in the East" by Alan L. Jones. available at https://web2.msue.msu.edu/Bulletins/viewitem.cfm?INVKEY=NCR045 and http://www.ipm.msu.edu/Pubs_stone.htm both of which we use here at Royal Oak Farm Orchard.

All of this discussion about Brown Rot is well and good but there is
still one great big question that has yet to be answered: What does it look
like? If I wouldn't recognize it if I saw it, there has got to be alot of
other folks who are wondering as I am. Does anyone know of a website that
shows examples of Brown Rot? Thanks.
