Sorry to stay on the subject (Bramley), but the Brits have such great
descriptions. I came across this:
Bramley apples can be used in a variety of traditional comforting
recipes including crumbles, pies and puddings. They can also liven up
savoury dishes such as soups, grilled meat, fajitas, tortillas,
curries, samosas and kebabs.

Liven up curries? Those folks must have better taste buds that me
(we/us), or else they make pretty mild curries. I cannot imagine the
taste of an apple surviving curries the way I like them (hot). Perhaps
the Brits just have a better imagination than those who live West of
them.
