If you are very careful (if that is possible) you might try it for a
few small patches of very tough plants. 24D is quite volatile and even
the fumes can have a noticeable effect on grapes. Perhaps if your
fruit trees were quite large and quite aged they might survive an
accident better than young trees.
I know a guy who accidentally killed a large mature birch tree by treating his lawn with 24D.
