With the price of gypsum at only $2.75 per 40 lb. bag at Home Depot, why
would anyone want to mess with sheetrock as a soil amendment?

If you are doing any building or remodeling, chances are you will have lots
of scrap sheetrock, and it is landfilled by many contractors building new
homes. You can often get truck loads free for the hauling, if you know the
right people and ask at the right time.
Commenting on fiberglass fibers etc in sheetrock: This is added to the type
"X" sheetrock, the firerated kind used most often in fire-rated partition or
walls such as between the house and attached garage, not in all sheetrock.
I'm not sure if it is also used in the green water resistant sheetrock.
