In my recent websearches, I stumbled on a site with
the article "Row Middle Management".

This reminded me of previous list-chats about
groundcovers, plus some things I rediscovered in some
old notes of mine. It may have been from Ag Handbook
510 (re fireblight and how to reduce/control it) that
I jotted these down:

"Sod is better than bare soil...

Comparing alfalfa or other deep-rooted legume, and sod
+ nitrogen fertilizer, and bare soil, the number of FB
infections doesn't differ significantly BUT severity
and extent of infections is lowest with the legume...

Legume should be mowed early season, but allowed to
grow thru the summer."
