I have planted a number of trees in the fall. I do nothing differently than for Spring planting. Soak roots for 12 hrs, plant, tree tube and water. Try to let the ground dry a bit before you expect a hard frost.

I am awaiting delivery of several fruit trees (pear, cherry) from a nursery. I've never planted trees in the fall before, is there anything special I should do?  The weather has been unusually pleasant here in zone 5/6 (we're right on the line in SE Ohio).  Thanks in advance for any help!
