- Subject: [NAFEX] Filbert Skins
- Date: Sat, 02 Oct 2004 15:08:49 -0400
Hello,
I happened across a biscotti recipre that has you removing the skins from filbert nuts, prior to roasting and chopping them.
The process for removing the skins from the filberts works great, and thought I would share it.
Place 1 cup of water and 3 TBS of baking soda in a pan to boil. Add 1 cup of shelled filberts for 3 minutes and drain under cool running water.
Just pinch the nut and the skin slips right off.
Not sure if it was posted before, but it works great.
Later,
tom
