Keith
Greenwood tip grafting needs 80° and above for best success. What Zone you in.
Even my heartnuts which were the only thing I grafted this year as dormant to growing stock took 5 weeks to show, Now they are shooting along. All but two T bark grafts are growing great. Zone 5 very cool summer, and cold nights.

I usually bark graft pecans in the spring with reasonable success but didn't get about ten stocks done this spring.
In the past I've had reasonable success using Davies's greenwood tip grafting on walnuts but not pecans. It has rained almost every day for a week and I can irrigate them also so they are vigorous. The wood at grafting height is 3 or 4 yr.Suggestions:graft w dormant, greenwood,or wait till next
spring?If suggest greenwood, what method?
Thanks
Keith
