Hello,
About 2 years ago there was a discussion of using rooting
hormone on grafts to speed the healing/union between
rootstock and scion. The other day I posted the ancient
method of grafting that used willow bark to bind the
rootstock and scion together.
If memory serves, willow bark has the same active
ingrediants as rooting hormone, and would have had the same
effect as today's rooting hormone in the graft healing
process.
Wonder if it was just a happy coinidence, or if the ancients
actually noted improved "takes" when the grafts were bound
with willow bark?
Later,
Tom
