- Subject: [NAFEX] urine for fire ants?
- Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2004 16:39:09 -0600
When we lived in South Texas, we had a friend that was an organic
farmer, and he told us the cheapest (free) and most organic way to get rid
of fireants, and it really does work, but most people think it's too weird
so they won't do it. Urine. The acid in it kills the ants. Pee in a mason
jar and pour it directly into the mound. It won't hurt your vegetables, it
should be okay for the roses (urea?LOL!!) and it's free, but a little
embarrassing!
Guys, this showed up on a rose forum. If anyone tries it, I want to know
if it works. The fire ants are only 40 miles south of us now, in
McMinnville TN. Donna
