Hi,

Apple grinders can be pretty primative, with screw head or nails sticking out
of a revolving wooden
axle. These act as teeth, chewing up the fruit. As long as the screws/nail
heads clear the sides
of the grinder they work just fine. Otherwise it is just an axke, couling
and funnel for the
pummace.
