Spent time today with a new grower who's interested in expanding into kaki
persimmons. He just returned from another operation near Charlotte, NC, and
was told kaki (Asian) persimmons won't work for us, and was directed to a
row of small, dead trees.

I showed him our Hana Fuyu with a couple dozen fruit this year, and our Hira
Tanenashi about 10 feet tall.

My questions: Who's fruiting kakis in Zone 6, under what conditions?
Which cultivars are favored?
Anyone taking these to market?
Anyone other than Edible Landscaping selling cold-hardy kaki plants?

Thanks,
Richard Moyer
