Spring of 2002, I ordered six hazel trees and four
Carpathian walnut trees from Grinnell Nursery in Michigan. He has a catalog on on
the NNGA site and apparently supplies trees
for MSU projects on the northern peninsula.Six
hazels and one walnut arrived in excellent condition but the other three walnuts
didn't appear viable but I planted them, notified him
and watered them weekly the same as the others
which thrived. The three walnuts in question showed never even sprouted from the
roots.I've contacted him several times and he has always replied except for a
period when he said his computer was down. This spring he said he was out of
walnuts but would replace with hazels which I didn't receive.
I would imagine the nursery business is rather
hectic at times especially for a small order.Has any one had experience with
this nursery?
