Doc:
When near maturity, Chojuro fruit turns a near bronze/copper color. At
that time start sampling and when the intense butterscotch flavor shows up
they are tree ripe. At this stage, they'll keep in cold storage in
excellent condition for a couple of months. However as with all asian
types, pick them as if they were ripe peaches as the skin bruises easily.

Subject: [NAFEX] Chojuro Nashi: time to pick
This year is the first time my trees set enough fruit to be concerned about
harvest time. Fruit is larger than usual and I want to gather a few for my
Zhongwen friends. Will they ripen off the tree like pears? Is there any way
to determine when to pick them?
