I tried milky spore when I moved to my current home, about 6 years ago. It is slow to work - very little change the first year. On the other hand, I have had very few Japanese beetles the last couple of years, despite growing plants they like, such as raspberries and grapes. I'm in suburbia, and most of my neighbors treat for "grubs", so I'm sure that helps me, too.

These beetles are VERY bad here, and they do not do much in the way of
discrimination. They emerged on June 7 this year and will last 2 months.
Last year I could not keep the traps emptied fast enough. This year I am
trying the milky spore. Oh yes, maybe because this 6 acres was a former
pasture just before I took it over in 1999.

I had Japanese beetles in my 2 acres of blueberries and pretty much gotrid
of them over several years. Set out four traps around the edges andcaught
buckets full; applied nematodes once; applied milky spore when it camecombination,
back on the market. Don't know which worked, or if it was the
but they are no longer a problem.files, plain text ONLY!
