Cydonia oblonga, the edible quince, named by the Romans. I want to make quince jelly for my toast.
Chaenomeles is not really a quince ("flowering quince"), although I must concede it is in the same family (Rosacea), and can be eaten. We actually had a large Chaenomeles until a couple of years ago when my wife ripped it out because it was too unruly and spiny.
