- Subject: [NAFEX] Evans cherry- any Canadian sources??
- Date: Wed, 5 Feb 2003 20:14:22 -0400
The enthusiastic paeons of praise for the Evans cherry have piqued
my interest. If it originated in Alberta, it should be possible to find
scion wood here in Canada. Even better, it should be east of the
Rockies (I am not sure whether we have to worry about Apple
Ermine moth in this context, but no harm in looking East of the
Rockies) My cherries (North Star, and two others I can't remember
now), are basically devastated by some horrible Pseudomonal
infection. Maybe the Evans cherry, if it thrives on neglect, will
prove more resistant. I have lots of pin cherries to graft onto. Any
Canadian members have scion wood?? Any members in
Edmonton??
