These days swarming may also be a response to Varroa
or Tracheal mites, Small Hive Beetles, or older
diseases. Actually, we find that most of our swarm
collection relates to mites, so we medicate as soon as
we pick up a new swarm.

Lots of room sounds good, but too much room can also
cause problems. Somehow, bees don't work as hard if
there is more space than they know what to do with.
