Title: Re: [NAFEX] (off topic) Appreciation and bees An old rhyme about swarms goes
A swarm in May is worth a load of hay
A swarm in June is worth a silver spoon
A swarm in July isn't worth a fly.
Meaning that the later a swarm occurs, the less time it has to build size and become productive, or even strong enough to overwinter without help.
Swarming is usually in response to crowding, so if you make sure a hive has lots of room all season, it's much less likely to swarm.

Usually spring, early summer. But can happen any time.
Gordon C. Nofs Flint, MI.
Now a question if I may. Can anyone tell me in what season(s)
of
the year do honey bees swarm?
Thank you, and best wishes for the New Year.
