Sugar Plums
2 cups almonds, raw
1 cup dried apricots, finely chopped
1 cup dates, finely chopped
2 tsp. Orange zest
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
½ tsp. Ground all spice
1 ½ tsp. Cinnamon
¼ cup honey
1 cup powdered sugar
1. Preheat oven to 400. Bake almonds 10
minutes.
Set aside to cool. Then chop finely.
2. Meanwhile, mix nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon,
zest,
and honey in medium bowl.
3. Add almonds, apricots, and dates to honey
mixture. Combine well.
4. Scoop by teaspoon full, rolling into a
ball, roll
through powdered sugar, and place on wax
paper.
Re-dust with powdered sugar before serving
because sugar plums tend to absorb sugar.
Refrigerate for up to two weeks. Flavors will
ripen
over several days.
