- Subject: [NAFEX] Ground Hawgs and Wood Chucks

A quicky for Mike Levine's question.
They are the same animal (Philohela minor). Down here we call we call them "Ground Hawgs". Up there, they call them "Wood Chucks" which is also used by New Yorker City dwellers for folks who live in upper state New York.
Please don't call them ground "haags" it is just too pretentious. Like the one on "Ground Haag Day" in Pennsyltucky. Phil is a Wood Chuck. A fat juicy one.
