Hi all,

I was talking to Jill off list regarding food mills for pressing berries, and I mentioned how I wished
they had small, cider type presses that could be used for berries. When it comes to juice extraction,
nothing is more efficient than a press, but presses are too big for small jobs (10-20 quarts).

With that in mind I did a quick search for plans for such a tiny press. I got a good hit on the first
pass and thought I would pass it along to you all;

Jeff Summit's Cider Press
http://web.bham.ac.uk/GraftonG/cider/press1.htm

I sent an email to Jeff asking if he had a picture of it (other than his diagram).

Seems like a simpe press that could be made with a 5 gallon plastic pail. It would save a lot of kitchen
mess, especially with dark colored, staining berries.

If any NAFEX members have designed simple to construct, tiny, cider type presses, I would like to see
them too.

We all end up needing to put all the fruit we grow to a good use.

Thanks,
Tom
