What are some of the better methods to determine apple
ripeness?
I know about lifting the apple up and twisting (rather
than yanking off). And that the seeds should be brown.
Taste would probably be part of it, but with different
varieties you're going to get different levels of
sweetness, etc.
Other determiners (particularly low-tech)?
