- Subject: [NAFEX] Flemish Beauty Pear
- Date: Sat, 27 Jul 2002 19:29:11 -0400 (EDT)
Hello,
Does Flemish Beauty pear have any unusual growth habits?
I grafted two scions this spring to two different (established 1")
suckers. The parent to the suckers succumbed to old age.
One of the grafts has taken to cork screwing around. Not a desirable
trait in a fruit tree. The other is producing a nice, central leader
ladder.
My only guesses are a) too rapid growth from having a large root system b)
a trait of the variety.
Anyone know for sure?
Thanks,
Tom
