Hi,

One man's treasure is another man's trash. A lot of factors will
influence how your currants taste, including soil and climate. But with
currants you are not waiting 5 years for fruit. You will know in 2-3
years time if you like your selections.

I like Crandall myself, lots of fruit, good flavor, large berries, no
powdery mildew problem and immune to White Pine Blister Rust. (WPBR).
Only drawback is it's somewhat weeping habit, but I overcome that with
cages.

The canes are so full of fruit they are dragged to the ground. Nice
problem.

Try the varieties you selected and if they do not turn out well, you have
little time invested, and move on to other varieties.

I have one Jostaberry and it pales in flavor to Crandall. Possibly, I
should pick my Jostaberry earlier, like their gooseberry grandparents.

Later,
Tom
