There is confusion. I've seen a distinctly separate species that has yellow
fruit, but R. odoratum has a yellow fruited form. Perhaps the yellow fruited
R. odoratum is the result of natural crosses between the two species.
Crandall will vary because in the 1800's it was considered acceptible to
grow seedlings of Crandall and sell them as Crandall, too. Undoubtedly the
"Crandall" out there represents more than one seedling.
