Vic,
The Macoun is from a cross made in 1909, only 4 years after publication of
"Apples of NY".
Jersey Black is also mentioned by Morgan & Richards "The book of Apples" :
presumably arose in N.Jersey, recorded in 1817 by Coxe as "Black Apple".
This would indicate that it is still kept alive at the Brogdale Hort. Trust
in England.
