Traditionally, olives are grown from cuttings. Seedlings will vary
considerably. The trees themselves are fairly hardy, down to about zone 7
with protection, but they need a dry, warm climate to set and mature fruit.
In cooler climates they are more apt to be unfruitful and may get disease.
