I've just been shown a copy of a 1942 Dutch book:
REDACTIE: NEDERLANDSCHE HEIDEMAATSCHAPPIJ, ARNHEM UITGEGEVEN DOOR S. GOUDA
QUINT.
D. BROUWER EN ZOON, ARNHEM

There are descriptions and drawings and paintings of about 80 varieties of
apples
grown in Holland in 1942 (also some pears and plums).

The descriptions and drawings are very similar to those in John Bultitude's
Apples: a guide to the identification of International varieties.

I've scanned onto my computer the descriptions of six varieties.

Is there anyone in Nafex who will translate these pages into English for me?
It
should be someone who knows and is interested in apples. The description of
each
variety takes about two paragraphs.

The varieties are Schoone von Boskoop, Reinette von Zuccalmaglio, Ananas
Reinette,
Landsberger Reinette, Zoete Reinette, and Zure Grauwe Reinbette.

This is a continuation of the search for a description of Goudreinette.

We have four very similar apples here - big, russeted, greenish, some with a
bit
of red, others with a lot of red, few seeds, all winter apples. We're trying
to
positively identify some or all of them.

I've shown the descriptions to two Dutch-speaking people and they weren't much
help because they didn't know any horticultural terms e.g. russeting, canker.

If anyone is able to translate these for me, please contact me at my email
address
below.

Thanks,

Derry
