Most dog sprays use ammonia.
Whatever you use make sure it is labeled dog or bear repellant.
Possession of insecticide spray is illegal in most parks and forests. OFF or Deet to apply to you is OK but you
are not allowed to spray for insects in PA parks and forests without a permit
and a plan, even gypsy moths. I have found that the horse’s self
preservation instincts can be counted on when confronted by dogs, unless you
have bomb proofed the horse into being dumb. Most horses can face down a dog or even a
few, and kicking one or two usually settles the matter. Most feral dogs won’t
come near a horse the second time. There was a problem locally with feral
packs downing sheep. The owners got tired of bailing their shepards out for
shooting the dogs and got some burros. All they ever found afterwards
were dead dogs, no more dead sheep, and no more lawyers fees. Irv Lichtenstein From:

been told to use Hornet spray....it shoots further and it is easier to hit a
moving target....also isn't a fog that can be blown away? |
