I have been told to use Hornet spray....it shoots further and it is easier to hit a moving target....also isn't a fog that can be blown away?

North Georgia MSAR has a brief summary of their Feb 18 2010 meeting on
their website. It looks like they are off to a good start.

Another Rescue Specialist course has been posted on the GEMA website:

Spalding County in Griffin
March 2-3, 2010
770 228-2129

To get a longer lead time on upcoming training dates, MSAR responders
in Georgia can call their county GEMA office to ask about training dates
for the Rescue Specialist course:

Rescue Specialist: A 14-hour course designed to train rescue
personnel in the basics of rescue techniques. The course covers
unit organization, search and rescue techniques (ground and
water), map and compass reading, and basic rope tying and knots.

Approved by POST, EMS and Georgia Firefighters Standards and
Training Council for continuing education credit hours.

Who Should Attend: Individuals who wish to qualify for
membership in a legally established rescue organization or
members of an emergency services organization who wish to
enhance their search and rescue techniques.

Here in New Mexico we have Field Certification, a training and testing
program that covers everything search and rescue responders are expected
to know. That is our minimum qualification for SAR in New Mexico. Some
people study the training manual on their own, then take the test at one
of the scheduled test sessions. Some SAR team training officers use the
training manual to prepare their new recruits for testing. We also hold
a very fast-paced training and testing session during our annual state
SAR conference. The training manual (Field Certification Study Guide)
is available for download and use by anyone, anywhere, at no charge:

Hope this helps,
