This comes from the NOAA website, but there are contrary views about the
relative safety or lack thereof. They relate to my remark below.

In the vicinity of these lines there may be more risk of ground strike.
My mare, wearing shoes and traveling under high voltage lines across the
Caja del Rio volcanic field, would squirm as if standing on hot coals.
