what kinds of vests
others are using and how they are working for
your group.

I agree with the Cabello answer, they have a fairly good selection and sell
quality outer wear for both men and women, although they are just recently
expanding more towards women.
I too would recomend florescent orange over the other colors, it stands out
more readily in a variety of backgrounds, and the florescent is UV visable.
Has anyone considered contacting a company with a preferred design and
having them make some specifically for MSAR? After that, groups could all
order from them. You could ask several companies to submit bids, then choose
accordingly. Of course, you'd have to be willing to contract with them, but
it might be an idea.

Another source is www.benmeadows.com which is dedicated to the forestry
industry. Their vest have pockets and a built in back pack. I purchased
one for summer time use and it suites me just fine. Pockets are large
enough for the essentials and the back pack can carry most of what is in the
saddle bag. Color is orange.
