Also, for what it is worth -

Is the pony microchipped or bloodtyped, or dna identifiable through it's
registry?

You might want to also watch the registry for the same horse under a
different owner.

My experience with registries though is offen they do not want to get
involved becasue these are often disputes between the owner and possibly
where they board or some other arrangement and the registries usually will
not act as a clearing house for
the dispute...but if the horse is DNA or bloodtyped, there is a chance to
settle the dispute from that type of identification. Things beyond
though,are not the registries management for most any horse association.
Thjose are legal matters that the owner must take up in court etc.
