Riding in teams of two or three is a good policy but should be a policy and
not a hard fast rule.
The manager needs the flexibility of being able to weigh the circumstances,
the environment, and the nature of the assignment. Some tasks such as
ferrying in equipment or supplies don't always
require the commitment of a second rider. Many of the riders in my area
spent hours alone in the
saddle checking fences or cattle.
