This is a great list, in fact the best specialty list I've found of any
SAR group. People are really open
Wanted to know if there is a web site for Code 3 Associates? I've always
been interested
in the folks that do that kind of work and at some point in the future
would like to
get involved.
Right now, I'm finishing my SAR dog (Lab) in trailing, cadaver and area
search
and just elected Training Officer/VP our county SAR group and have
my hands full. Our county
SAR just started a mounted division last year and this list has been a
real help.
Our M-SAR still has a long way to go in development. But the folks
on this list are more
than willing to help.

I shudder at the thought of being
considered a "lurker". I just joined the site yesterday after finding it
on the NASAR website, so I really haven't had time to lurk yet. Glad I
could nip that problem in the bud.
Just for reference, I am a former
deputy sheriff and FTO with the Mounted Division of the Fulton County,
Atlanta, GA Sheriff's Department. I also served on the GA State MSAR
team for several years. I am also a former Sr. Chief in the US
Navy.
Currently I am the Events Coordinator and Logistics/Supply
Officer for Code 3 Associates, Inc. based in CO. We are an animal
disaster SAR response team which responds anywhere in the lower 48 states and
Canada as well as conducting 20-25 classes nationwide for training
animal control officers and equine humane investigators. I am also a
one-,am mounted SAR when the situation calls for it.
I hope to be an
active part of this group now that I'm here, but please feel free to contact
me directly if there are any questions or information I might to able to
supply from what little knowledge has gotten stuck to me over the
years.

Welcome Trooper! Glad you found this list!
We're not all lurkers all the
time- just some of the time! <G>
I think I just saw your outfit at
Equine Affaire in Ontario. I was
impressed. I really wanted to stop and
ask questions but everyone looked
occupied every time I got a chance to
stop by. After the fire evacuations
recently here in So. Cal. it became
very apparent to me that our Posse is
woefully undertrained for a
disaster of that magnitude! We need
help!
Anyway, welcome to the group. Glad you jumped right in and
introduced
yourself!!
