Twiggy, a seven year old female gorilla, sits in her cage at the Lagos
International
airport in Lagos, Nigeria, Friday, May 23, 2003. Twiggy, and nine year-old
fellow rescued
Lowland gorilla Brighter, were retured by the Nigerian government to their
natural
habitat in the Limbe wildlife centre in Cameroon Friday after seven years in
captivity.
The gorillas, among the only 30,000 of their kind left in Africa, were found
in December
in the Kano, Nigeria home of a Lebanese businessman who bought the pair from
illegal
animal traders. (AP Photo/George Osodi)
