Monkey drinks Coke in northern India
Animals have been using novel methods of quenching
their thirst in the soaring temperatures of northern
India.
A monkey who belongs to a roadside entertainer was
photographed sipping from a bottle of Coke in
Jullunder.
Temperatures are on the rise in Northern India with
some parts recording a high of 44C (111F).
Earlier this year more than 1,000 people died in a
heatwave in the southern Indian state of Andhra
Pradesh.
The government has said it is investigating the cause
of the heat wave, but weather experts have denied it
is global warming or deforestation.
They said it is just a change in the intensity and
direction of the winds from the desert.
