Monkeys given a party by grateful businesses
http://www.ananova.com/yournews/story/sm_453772.html
Six hundred monkeys are to enjoy a special banquet put
on by grateful
civic leaders in Thailand.
A stack of fruit five metres high by four metres wide
will be placed
in Lopburi's town square for them to eat.
It is a gift from the governor and local businesses.
Lopburi has
hundreds of wild Macaque monkeys which attract droves
of tourists.
Governor Taweesak Wiengwiset says the monkeys will eat
a banquet
displayed on a 12 metre long table covered in bananas,
carved
vegetables, nuts, cakes and fruit.
Yongyuth Kijwattananuson, a local inn owner is
providing the feast.
Over 400,000 baht (about £6,350) will be spent on
decorations and
party food for the monkeys on November 25.
