HUNT GOES ON FOR COCONUT STRICKEN MONKEY
http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_207610.html?menu=news.quirkies
Volunteers are trying to find a monkey that got its head stuck in a coconut
in Thailand.
Tourists are being urged not to feed open coconuts to monkeys following the
incident more than a week ago.
One tour guide said he had seen five monkeys die after getting stuck in
coconut shells the same way.
The stricken animal escaped blindly into the jungle, near the resort of
Bang Saen, during the first attempt to free it.
A team of vets from Bangkok's Dusit Zoo has tried unsuccessfully to locate
the animal, news service reports.

VETS HUNT MONKEY WHICH HAS COCONUT HEAD
Vets are to help a monkey which has had its head stuck in a coconut for
five days.
A team of 12 Bangkok vets will try to save the pig-tail monkey, which tried
to eat coconut flesh from a shell discarded by a tourist.
It fled blindly from the resort of Bang Saen into the jungle. It was caught
on Saturday but villagers had to let it go when the head of the monkey's
tribe attacked them.
The team of vets will search out the monkey and attempt to remove the
shell, the Independent On Line reports.
Last year at the same resort a monkey got its hand stuck in a coconut,
forcing vets to operate on the swollen limb.
