(We should try to remember to change subject lines as applicable.) Does anyone know of any research done about this which considers flavor as well as yield? From an heirloom variety, I'm getting nearly the flavor that I do from the same variety field grown. I sucker them only to keep a clean stem and area at the bottom of the plant, so leaves don't contact the soil in the pot. I think the extra foliage may be contributing to the flavor; but am not sure. -- Rivka; Finger Lakes NY, Zone 6A now I think Fresh-market organic produce, small scale
