Dennis Ferlito of Bejo Seeds told me that they transplant all fennel and did when he was on the family muck farm in Oswego, NY.  We never discussed cell size, though.

I use 72's for cabbage and broccoli.

I direct seed kohlrabi and fennel, so can't speak to those. Do they transplant well?
