Here in NJ tomatoes always taste like tomatoes its when you get outside the state that tomatoes taste like blah red things. Which is why
you should try them yourself. Rock hard is not a bad thing when you sell self service and people sort through the pile squeezing everything...Bob.

I'm not at all sure that "rock hard" is what I want in a tomato; though split resistance is indeed good.

Do they taste like tomatoes, or do they just taste sweet?
