As a owner of both Jang AP-1 and Planet Jr push seeders, I agree with
what is being said here. The Planet Jr is actually a drill so it pours
quite a bit of seeds (especially small ones) so you won't get close to
singulation. It is thus good for high density plantings of medium
sized seeds (beets or spinach for example) but mine is not the plate
type so it is a bit hard to adjust and I mostly use it to interseed
mixed grain/clover cover crops. The AP-1 is really good at anything
small than beet seed in my experience. I do use pelleted lettuce and
carrot seeds though. It is awesome with radishes as well as direct
seeded onions and brassica.

For big seeds like beans, peas and even some sweet corn I find the
earthway to be really useful even if you cannnot adjust seed spacing.
