That sounds like the way that used pickup trucks are around here. What part
of the country are you folks located?

No doubt it is different in other areas, but in our neck of the woods, used
tractors in decent shape sell for only slightly less than their new
counterparts. This holds for anything less than 15-20 yrs old. I spent a lot
of time looking at used ones, comparing prices on craigslist,
tractorhouse.com , etc. when we were looking for our first tractor, and this
I found to be consistently true. So we finally decided why pay almost new
price for a used tractor with unknown problems when we can pay only a bit
more for new under warranty that the dealer/seller will stand behind? That
payments were spread out over 2 yrs interest free was just icing.

Everybody's situation is different. Just one person's opinion.
