Gary,
Where we used to live, crows would destroy our Asian pears before
ripe. I could walk out the door with a gun-shaped stick or empty
handed, and they'd laugh at me. But step out the door with a gun and
they flew.

Research has shown that crows can count up to 7 people entering, then
leaving a blind, one person at a time. So trying to hide from them to
get a shot is tough also.

While on a family trip, I spied a dead crow on the side of the road.
Stopped and lashed it to the bumper for it was ripe and no kid would
hold it. The joys of farming!!! Hung it up near the pears, and no
crow problems for 2 years, until it fell apart. Agreed that a dead
crow works wonders. Hang 'em high, and mine worked over hundreds of
feet. In contrast, the related blue jays continued feeding within 2
feet of a freshly killed bluejay hung in a fruit tree. Crows are
unique.

So consider crow road kill. Also, your local wildlife control or dead
animal removal personnel may have suggestions on where/how to find
one.

Out to plant more in the muck,

I am having huge Crow problems, they are ravaging the tomatoes that are far
out in the back fields. I have successfully shot one in the past and hung it
in fields, but have not been able to get a shot. I have heard and read about
the plastic Owls,Scare tape, the big eyeballs, etc. The two rows where they
are causing the most problems are 90' long

Crow eradication suggestions? happy to trade humidity for advice.
