They showed up here in Central VA in early April, never saw them before this early. I started seek and kill, then insecticidal soap with some success. They got out of control in one high tunnel where I have a whole row of cucs that are flush with early season cucs., so I started using Spinosad which has been effective on the Cucumber Beetle and the Squash Bugs, I would like to know what (if any) beneficials feed on Cuc Beetles. Here is one summary of Spinosad.
Summary: Spinosad is a
natural insecticide. The active ingredients in spinosad, spinosyn A and
spinosyn D, are complex organic compounds made by soil microbes. Spinosad is a
broad-spectrum pesticide but is only active if ingested or contacted while in
liquid form, so has little effect on most beneficial species.
