Hi Jon,
Sorry to hear of your beetle woes. I'm sure they'll be swarming our crops
any minute now, as we aren't that far from you. Unfortunately, the only
(organic) control we've found firsthand that works is the
thumb-and-forefinger approach. The only other thing I've heard of that is
supposed to be quite effective on cucumber beetles is bats. If you google
for
bats as a control for cucumber beetles site:.edu
you will get a great many hits from the academic community. We put up a bat
house/nursery in late 2008 and are hopeful they will find us for many
reasons, cucumber beetles being an important one.
