I think your heat mats temp is too high. If your seedling trays are at least 2" deep you should not have to water more than three times a week. Bottom water from now on and let the top dry out. Are you growing in a basement under lights?. Try setting trays in direct sun each day that should kill the mold. Take care not to cook you seed... Bob.

I have a wite cottony mold on the tops of my seeding trays of peppers. My first concern is will my pepper seeds, planted 6 days ago, still come up? How do I prevent this in the furture?

I use thermostacally controlled heat mats and they dry out during the day while I am at my other job. Do I let the trays sit in water? Do I top water twice a day and hope for the best?

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks,

Kathy
