We have used this calendar. It's very nice. My grandfather did
everything by the signs - planting, castrating, weaning, etc. I can't
say I believe or disbelieve, but I wouldn't mind planting by the signs
just in case it makes a difference (we can always use an 'edge') -
EXCEPT that the weather rarely cooperates. Oh well...best intentions!

For those interested, High Mowing Seeds sells a calendar called Stella
Natura that is pretty neat. I bought one for a couple of years just to
see what I'd learn..
